Biography
Dr. Theodore (Ted) Shields is an associate teaching professor and technology liaison in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Dr. Shields received his Ph.D. in Criminology from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2002, his M.S. in Justice Administration from American University in 1995, and his B.A. in Justice, Law and Society from American University in 1993.
Before joining Florida International University in 2013, Dr. Shields served as a faculty member at The College of The Bahamas, University of Puerto Rico, Charleston Southern University, and Keiser University. Dr. Shields is a generalist who teaches courses across the criminological/criminal justice discipline.
Dr. Shields' primary interests include online teaching pedagogy, drugs and crime, cybercrime, and criminological theory.
